The Leaf King, or Leaf Man, reigns Spring to Fall as the God of plenty and fruitful harvest. He is boisterous and loud, full of life, song, stories, and jokes. Carefree and thrilled to be alive, life arises wherever his staff touches. The Stag King, or Antlered God, along with his devoted hound, rules in the dark of the year and leads the wild hunt. His horns connect him with the animals who give sustenance in winter. The torc on his arm is a mystical symbol of authority. The Ram-headed serpent represents his seasonal office, possible, Scorpio to Aries, his astrological reign.
Measures 7 5/8 x 4 3/8 x 4 3/8 inches. Lovely sculpture by artist Paul Borda is cast in resin and hand finished in a antique stone or wood finish. Designed for taper candles with brass candle cup in top.

| Cast Resin | Resin is a polymer which can be used for making molds as well as cast in molds. Cold-cast resin is generally for sculpture and means that the resin material is cast without the need for the extreme heat of a foundry. It holds very sharp detail when cast. Most of the major lines of figurines on the market today are made of cold cast resin. It is fragile if dropped and fractures similar to glass, usually in clean pieces which can be glued using a household super glue. |
